Privacy Policy

In short

The personal data we collect from this site is what you type into the contact form, plus the technical record our servers keep of every request, which includes your IP address. We use your enquiry to reply to you and for nothing else. We do not sell your data, we do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not set advertising or tracking cookies.

What we collect

When you submit the contact form we collect the details you enter:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your company, if you choose to give it
• Your message

Separately, our hosting provider records the IP address, time and outcome of every request to this site, including pages you only look at. For contact form submissions we record the same details ourselves, so we can detect and block automated abuse. We do not log the content of your message alongside it.

We do not use this site to collect special categories of data, and we ask that you do not send us any through the form.

Why we collect it

To read your enquiry and reply to it, and to continue any conversation that follows. That is the whole purpose.

We do not use it for marketing and we do not build profiles from you. The only automatic step is the spam and abuse check described under How we protect it, which can reject a submission before anyone reads it. We make no other automated decisions about you.

Consent, and how to withdraw it

By submitting the contact form you consent to us using the details in it to respond to you.

You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing privacy@lab66.io. We will stop using your details and delete them, unless we are required to keep something to comply with the law. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did while it was in place, and it may mean we cannot continue a conversation you started.

Who else handles it

We use a small number of third-party providers to run this site. They handle personal data only to provide their service to us, and only on our instructions. They fall into these categories:

• Hosting and request logging, which processes every request to this site
• Email delivery, which carries your enquiry to us
• Bot protection, which checks that form submissions are not automated
• Rate limiting, which briefly stores your IP address so the form cannot be flooded with submissions
• Content management, which stores the text and images of this site and holds no visitor data
• Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without identifying you

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone for their own purposes. If you want to know which specific providers we use, ask us and we will tell you.

Sending data outside Singapore

The providers above are located outside Singapore, principally in the United States, so your data is transferred there when you use the contact form.

Where we transfer personal data out of Singapore we rely on contractual protections requiring the recipient to protect it to a standard comparable to that required by the Personal Data Protection Act. The same arrangements cover transfers out of the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom.

How long we keep it

We keep your enquiry for as long as we need it to respond to you and to maintain any working relationship that comes out of it. When it is no longer needed for that, we delete it.

Contact form submissions are not written to any database. They reach us as email, so they live in our inbox and with the email delivery provider that carried them.

The abuse-monitoring records described above are short-lived and are not used to build any lasting record of you.

Cookies and analytics

This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies, and it does not use third-party advertising networks.

Our analytics counts page views without cookies and without identifying individual visitors. Our bot protection is likewise cookieless.

The site stores one small flag in your browser for the length of your visit, so an opening animation does not replay on every page. It is cleared when you close the tab and it identifies nothing about you.

Because nothing here requires consent under cookie rules, this site does not show a cookie banner. If that ever changes, this policy changes with it.

How we protect it

This site is served over HTTPS only and sends security headers on every response. The contact form is rate limited and protected against automated submission, and the fields are length-limited and validated on the server as well as in your browser.

No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise. If you believe you have found a security problem with this site, please tell us at the address above.

Your rights

Under Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act you can ask us:

• For access to the personal data we hold about you, and how we have used or disclosed it in the past year
• To correct anything about you that is wrong or incomplete
• To withdraw your consent, as described above

Email privacy@lab66.io and we will respond as soon as we reasonably can. We may need to confirm who you are before we act.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal data, you can complain to the Personal Data Protection Commission of Singapore.

If you are in the EU or the UK

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, you additionally have the right to erasure, to restrict or object to our processing, and to receive your data in a portable form.

Our legal basis for handling your enquiry is your consent in submitting it, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us about our work. The abuse monitoring described above rests on our legitimate interest in keeping the form usable.

You also have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page. Significant changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
